Education and Industry Unite to Boost Pakistan’s Hospitality Sector

ISLAMABAD: In a strategic move aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and skill development for youth in Pakistan, the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (NEST-PEEF) awarded scholarships to students pursuing careers in Tourism and Hospitality Management. The ceremony was held at the Hashoo School of Hospitality Management, Bahria University Islamabad, and was attended by prominent figures including the Minister of State for Education and Professional Training, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, and the CEO of PEEF.

The event underscored a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors to foster education, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic growth within Pakistan’s tourism and hospitality industry. Ms. Qamar highlighted education as a cornerstone of societal progress, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive and merit-based education.

PEEF’s CEO elaborated on the organization’s initiatives, spotlighting the Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship as a crucial step in promoting education and strengthening the tourism sector, which holds significant potential for job creation. The scholarships aim to eliminate financial barriers for students, particularly those from underserved areas, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in a competitive job market.

Gardezi, Chief Operating Officer of Hashoo Hospitality and Education Division, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the rising demand for skilled professionals in Pakistan’s burgeoning hospitality sector.
