Islamabad, The majority of the election results from the recent general elections have been received, with the remainder expected to be released shortly, as per Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi. In a detailed conversation with the News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan, Solangi provided insights into the minor delays experienced in the election results, attributing them to the logistical challenges of transporting results from Presiding Officers to Returning Officers and then to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi highlighted the ECP’s obligation to publish the official and final election results within three days. He assured that the media could access preliminary results through Form 45, which is available at polling stations. The Minister noted the significant voter turnout, with 128 million voters exercising their right, reflecting the public’s keen participation in the democratic process.
Solangi expressed optimism that the incoming government would address the pressing economic and other challenges confronting the nation. In response to queries about the formation of the new government, he clarified that the ECP would forward the official results to the secretariats of the respective assemblies. Subsequently, the outgoing speakers are tasked with convening the initial sessions of the national and provincial assemblies within fourteen days, anticipating that these sessions could be held by the end of this month or early next month. This step will initiate the process of forming the next government.
