Karachi, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the establishment of Election Monitoring and Control Centres (EMCCs) across the country, aimed at efficiently registering and addressing public complaints for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the EMCCs have been set up at various levels, including provincial, divisional, and district, as well as in Islamabad. This extensive network is designed to ensure the swift and effective resolution of public complaints related to the election process.
The ECP has deployed trained personnel in these centres to handle and promptly resolve complaints. These control rooms will maintain active communication with relevant personnel and stakeholders, such as preliminary findings, Returning Officers, and District Returning Officers, to streamline the complaint resolution process.
For the public’s convenience, several channels have been made available to lodge election-related complaints. Individuals can send their grievances to the EMCC Center staff by email at complaints@ecp.gov.pk, through WhatsApp at 0327-5050610, or via a dedicated helpline at 111-327-000, which operates from 8 am to 6 pm.
In preparation for the elections, starting mid-January 2024, the centers will function round-the-clock until the conclusion of polling day on February 8, and until the finalization of results. This 24/7 operation underscores the ECP’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and responsive election process.
The establishment of these centres by the ECP marks a significant step in strengthening the electoral process in Pakistan, providing a robust mechanism for addressing public concerns and maintaining the integrity of the elections.
