Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is scheduled to publish preliminary lists of candidates for the upcoming general elections tomorrow, with provisions for candidates to withdraw their nominations by Friday.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, today marks the deadline for Appellate Tribunals, led by High Court judges, to resolve appeals filed against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers. This is a key step in finalizing the candidates for the general elections.
Following the disposal of appeals, the ECP will publish a revised list of candidates on Friday. The allocation of electoral symbols to candidates and parties is slated for Saturday, an important aspect of the electoral process in Pakistan.
