Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has commenced the distribution of postal ballot papers to eligible voters for the forthcoming general elections, covering both national and provincial assemblies.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, an ECP official informed the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that Monday marks the deadline for submitting applications for postal ballot papers. Eligible voters are required to download the application form from the electoral authority’s website. After receiving their postal ballot, they must send their votes to the relevant District Returning Officer within the designated timeframe.
The official clarified that those who opt to vote via postal ballot will not be permitted to cast their votes in person at polling stations. Additionally, the application for a postal ballot must be endorsed or forwarded by the voter’s office to ensure that only authorized individuals apply, thereby maintaining the integrity of the voting process.
This move by the ECP is part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate accessible and inclusive voting options for the upcoming elections in Pakistan.
