ECP Designates Thousands of Polling Stations as Highly Sensitive for Upcoming Elections


Islamabad, In preparation for the upcoming elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has classified a significant number of polling stations nationwide based on sensitivity to potential unrest.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, out of the total 92,500 polling stations across the country, the ECP has identified over 17,500 as highly sensitive, 32,508 as sensitive, and 42,500 as normal. This categorization into A, B, and C groups reflects varying levels of sensitivity.



Specifically, 6,599 polling stations in Punjab and 4,430 in Sindh are labeled as highly sensitive, with plans to monitor these locations using CCTV cameras. Additionally, Balochistan has 2,038 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 4,344 polling stations categorized as highly sensitive.



The sensitive category includes 15,829 polling stations in Punjab, 8,030 in Sindh, 2,068 in Balochistan, and over 6,000 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This categorization is part of the ECP’s efforts to ensure a secure and peaceful election process across Pakistan.
