Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has refuted circulating news regarding the appointment of retired officers as District Returning Officers (DROs) and Returning Officers (ROs). The ECP issued a press release to clarify the misinformation and provide an accurate account of the ongoing process.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP clarified that all news suggesting the appointment of retired officers for these roles is misleading. The Commission has been in contact with provincial election commissions to prepare lists for the appointment of DROs and ROs.
