Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that the economy has taken off under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and is expected to strengthen further in the coming days.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a news conference in Islamabad, Attaullah Tarar highlighted the significant growth in the country’s foreign exchange reserves, which have surpassed the eleven billion dollar mark. Additionally, he noted that remittances amounted to three billion dollars in October. The minister cited investment influx from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, UAE, and Qatar as positive indicators of economic progress. He remarked that the benefits of this economic improvement are gradually reaching the common populace.
Attaullah Tarar also mentioned that a delegation from the UAE is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss investment opportunities in Pakistan. In connection with this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is expected to be signed between the two parties.
Regarding judicial reforms, the Information Minister stated that the recent Supreme Court Bar Association election results endorse the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
Furthermore, he addressed the activities of the PTI, asserting that the party is organizing public gatherings to secure an NRO for its founding chairman. He emphasized the necessity for the PTI’s founding chairman to address the corruption cases against him.
