Islamabad: Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), is set to embark on an official visit to Pakistan from April 8 to 10, 2025. The visit is expected to focus on strengthening regional cooperation and discussing potential reforms within the organization.
During his time in Pakistan, Dr. Khan is scheduled to meet with the nation’s top leadership, including the President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister, as well as other key federal ministers. These discussions will center around the ECO’s current initiatives and Dr. Khan’s proposed reform agenda, which aims to revitalize the organization and enhance its relationships with member states, including Pakistan.
In addition to his engagements in Islamabad, Dr. Khan will travel to Lahore, where he will participate in the 294th Meeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives. This meeting, which brings together representatives from member states, will take place from April 12 to 15, 2025.
The visit underscores the importance of regional collaboration and the ECO’s commitment to fostering economic development and cooperation among its member countries.
