ECNEC approves three projects costing over Rs338 billion

Islamabad, September 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council of the Cabinet has approved three projects at a cost of over 338 billion rupees. The ECNEC that met in Islamabad on Friday with Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin in the chair, approved construction of Dir Motorway, which will be sponsored by government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amounting to over 28.99 billion rupees. The project envisages construction of 29.377 km long, four-lane dual carriageway from Chakdara to Rabat.

The ECNEC approved Peshawar – DI Khan Motorway at a cost of .over 276.53 billion rupees. In entails construction of 360 km long, six-lane dual carriageway from Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan and will pass through Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Tank.

Pak University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies also got ECNEC’s nod at a cost of 23.54 billion rupees. It will be a research university, which will house various centers of excellence in the cutting-edge fields of science and technology and state-of-the-art Technology Park.
