ECC Sanctions Import of 100,000 Metric Tons of Urea to Stabilize Market

Islamabad: In a move to stabilize fertilizer prices and ensure adequate supplies during the cropping season, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet has approved the import of 100,000 metric tons of Urea. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad today.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the approval aims to prevent any potential shortfall of Urea in the market, which is crucial for the agricultural sector, particularly during the peak demand of the cropping season. The import is part of broader efforts to maintain price stability and support agricultural productivity in the country.
