ECC Greenlights Conditional Sugar Export and Allocates Funds Through Supplementary Grants

Islamabad: In a recent session chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the conditional export of an additional 100,000 metric tons of sugar, alongside the sanctioning of three Technical Supplementary Grants totaling over 20.2 billion rupees.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the decision to allow further sugar exports comes with specific conditions aimed at stabilizing local markets and ensuring sufficient domestic supply. Details of these conditions, however, were not immediately disclosed. The approval reflects the government’s strategy to manage sugar supply effectively while capitalizing on favorable market conditions abroad.

In addition to sugar export approvals, the ECC’s decision to grant substantial financial allocations underlines its commitment to addressing urgent fiscal needs across various sectors, ensuring continued economic stability and support for governmental functions.
