ECC Approves Over Rs 4 Billion for Various Ministries and Projects


Islamabad, The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved funding exceeding Rs 4 billion for several ministries and significant national projects, ensuring continued governmental support across various sectors. The meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened in Islamabad today to address pending financial appropriations and strategic project funding.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECC approved a series of grants aimed at bolstering national security, legal affairs, and space exploration. The allocations include Rs 2.363 million for troop payments, costs, and subsistence allowances, enhancing the operational capabilities of the armed forces. Additionally, the Intelligence Bureau Division received Rs 200 million, and the Ministry of Law and Justice was granted Rs 19.373 million, emphasizing the government’s focus on enhancing its intelligence and legal frameworks.



A significant portion of the funding, amounting to Rs 4,050.686 million, was designated for the SUPARCO’s “Pakistan Multi-Mission Communication Satellite System” project. This initiative marks a pivotal step in advancing Pakistan’s capabilities in space technology and communications infrastructure.



Furthermore, the ECC approved the operation of SNGPL-based plants for a six-month period starting from March 31 to September 30, to ensure the uninterrupted supply of urea fertilizer for the Kharif cropping season, highlighting the government’s commitment to agriculture and food security.
