Islamabad, In a pivotal meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) led by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, significant financial grants were approved for various ministries aimed at enhancing national infrastructure and public services.
According to Press Information Department, the ECC meeting saw the approval of numerous Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) intended to address urgent needs across different sectors. Key approvals include Rs. 5,400 million to the Ministry of National Health Services for immunization activities, Rs. 4.92 billion for salary and social initiatives in Gilgit-Baltistan, and a substantial Rs. 14,250 million to the Finance Division to support the Women Inclusive Finance Project.
The meeting, attended by ministers including Rana Tanveer Hussain for Industries and Production, Musadik Masood Malik for Petroleum, and Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari for Power, also addressed critical economic issues. The ECC approved Rs. 9 billion for clearing the price differential claims of oil marketing companies, including PSO, and sanctioned the export of 0.15 million MT of surplus sugar, contingent on stable domestic prices.
Additional resolutions included a Rs. 82 billion finance facility repayment plan for the Power Holding Limited by OGDCL and numerous allocations for the Ministry of Interior to clear pending liabilities and enhance operational capabilities.
These decisions underscore the government’s commitment to not only maintaining but improving the economic stability and service delivery across Pakistan.
