Islamabad, The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a funding allocation of approximately four billion rupees for various ministries and divisions for the current fiscal year. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Caretaker Finance Minister, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECC sanctioned two hundred and fifty million rupees for the upgradation, technical enhancement, and field activities of the Intelligence Bureau. A significant portion of the funds, over three point five billion rupees, was allocated to the Federal Directorate of Immunization.
In sports, the ECC approved the release of 100 million rupees to support Pakistan’s Hockey team’s participation in international events and other sports promotion activities. This grant will also cover expenses for the Tennis Davis Cup with India and mind games like scrabble and chess.
Additionally, the ECC established a mechanism for the sale of imported urea at a basket price in conjunction with locally manufactured urea. This measure aims to ensure a reasonable price for the fertilizer, balancing market demands and supply.
These approvals by the ECC reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing national security measures, healthcare, and sports development, along with maintaining economic stability through strategic fiscal management.
