Dutch Ambassador and Pakistan Finance Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties


Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with Henny de Vries, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan, to explore avenues for bolstering the relationship between the two nations. The meeting, held at the Finance Division, focused on expanding collaboration in sectors such as mining, IT, and agriculture.



According to Press Information Department, both officials discussed the longstanding friendship and bilateral cooperation, identifying key areas like oil, gas, dairy, and farm production for future business partnerships. The Minister detailed the government’s economic strategy and reform initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and fiscal stability, while highlighting Pakistan’s recent economic achievements and ongoing efforts to enhance climate resiliency.



Ambassador de Vries affirmed the intention to strengthen bilateral ties, expressing interest in expanding cooperation across various fields, including sports. She noted the forthcoming visit of the Dutch cricket team to Pakistan, aimed at playing matches and gaining insights from the country’s cricketing expertise. Additionally, she commended the structural reforms in Pakistan’s economic and financial sectors and pledged Dutch support for Pakistan’s trade relations with the EU.
