Kargil: In response to security concerns, authorities in Kargil, in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, have issued a ban on the use of drones. The prohibition, ordered by District Magistrate Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, is aimed at mitigating potential security risks associated with unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the ban was prompted by a request from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Kargil. While the ban restricts civilian use of drones, it explicitly exempts Indian military and law enforcement agencies, including the police, paramilitary, Special Protection Group (SPG), and defense forces, allowing them continued use of such devices in their operations.
