Islamabad, Dr. Pir Ali Raza Bukhari, a former member of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, has emphasized the need for enhanced diplomatic efforts to gain international support for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He highlighted the global significance of the issue and called for robust diplomacy to facilitate its early settlement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Bukhari expressed his views while speaking to a delegation of Kashmiri journalists in Islamabad today. He strongly criticized the Indian Supreme Court’s recent verdict against Article 370, accusing it of endorsing what he termed as Narendra Modi’s “constitutional terrorism” in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Bukhari stressed the critical nature of the ongoing freedom movement in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, describing it as a matter of life and death for the Kashmiri people. He advocated for a strategic approach to counter India’s constitutional, cultural, and religious aggression in the occupied territory, emphasizing the need for a more assertive and coordinated diplomatic response.
Furthermore, Dr. Bukhari called for a unified stance among Muslim nations on the issues of Kashmir and Palestine, noting the similarities in the situations of the two regions. He suggested that a common stand by the Muslim world could significantly influence the international dialogue and support for these long-standing disputes.
