Karachi: The Diwali festival was celebrated at the Governor House with a series of events, including a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tesori. The celebration featured a fireworks display and was attended by Consul Generals from various countries, international artists, and Mr. Universe gold medalist Ramiz Ibrahim.
According to Sindh Governor House, the event underscored Diwali as an internationally celebrated festival symbolic of joy, love, and happiness for the Hindu community. Governor Tesori, in his address, extended his congratulations to the Hindu community and emphasized the significance of unity and equal rights for all minorities in Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan is a bouquet of diverse communities and affirmed that no discrimination would be tolerated based on religion.
The ceremony also highlighted the achievements of Ramiz Ibrahim, who named his Mr. Universe gold medal after Governor Tesori. Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the Governor’s encouragement and motivation. Additionally, Governor Tesori presented gold medals and other tokens of appreciation to international artists participating in the World Culture Festival Karachi.
