Islamabad, November 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) is engaged in imparting Education, Medical, Para Medical and Rehabilitation Services to the Special Children of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) under the umbrella to Ministry of Human Rights, Islamabad.
International Day of Persons with disabilities is observed on 3rd December, of every year with an objective to promote awareness of disability issues, fundamental rights of persons with disabilities and integration of persons with disabilities in the main stream of each aspect of the social, political, education and cultural status of their communities.
The day extends an opportunity to initialize action to reach the target of full and equal pleasure of human rights and contribution in society by disabled persons, launched by the World Program of Action for Disabled Persons, declared by the UN General Assembly in the year 1982.
Directorate General of Special Education is celebrating International Day of Disabled Persons on 3rd December, 2021 at Presidency Islamabad in collaboration with INGOs / NGOS DPOs etc working in the field of disabilities.
A large number of higher dignitaries including parliamentarians, Civil Society NGO and INGOS representatives and parents of PWDs are likely to witness the function. The theme of subject event “Leadership and Participation of Persons with Disabilities toward an Inclusive, Accessible and sustainable post – COVID-19 World”. The programme includes speeches tableau performance etc. by the children with disabilities.
