Khuzdar: DIG Khuzdar Range Sohail Khalid highlighted the crucial role of the police in ensuring public safety and the need for enhanced resources during his discussions with local media representatives.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, in his meeting with former president of the Khuzdar Press Club and leaders of the Journalists Organization for Social Services, DIG Khalid expressed that despite limited personnel and resources, the police have managed to provide a sense of security to the public through brave and risk-intensive decisions. He stressed the ongoing efforts to improve police effectiveness and the necessity of bolstering police confidence to enhance security operations.
DIG Khalid acknowledged the existing constraints within the police stations regarding their construction and operational capacities and discussed with higher authorities the potential for improving these facilities. He proposed expanding the police’s jurisdiction and resources, similar to recent enhancements seen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to better manage law and order.
Furthermore, DIG Khalid addressed the local drug issues, noting special instructions had been given to intensify efforts against drug smuggling and street crimes. He emphasized the importance of supporting the police force through adequate training, morale boosting, and the implementation of stringent measures against any form of misconduct within the force.
