ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, has conducted a thorough assessment of security measures along the proposed routes for Muharram processions in the capital. Ensuring the safety of participants remains a top priority, with police officers instructed to maintain heightened vigilance.
Accompanied by senior police officials, including SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan, the DIG evaluated the preparations in place for the upcoming religious gatherings. The inspection focused on ensuring that all procession routes are secured and adequately illuminated to prevent any security lapses.
DIG Tariq conveyed the importance of implementing comprehensive security arrangements for the processions and majalis. He stressed the necessity of adhering strictly to established procedures, affirming the commitment of the Islamabad Police to maintain public safety during the sacred month.
Efforts to foster inter-sect harmony and tolerance are also being prioritized. The police force is working under the guidance of IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to promote peaceful observances throughout Muharram.
These steps are part of a broader initiative to ensure that the religious events proceed without incident, reflecting the Islamabad Police’s dedication to upholding order and security during critical times.
