DIG Islamabad Chairs High-Level Meeting on Crime Prevention

Islamabad: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, convened a critical meeting to assess the prevailing crime situation in the federal capital. The session was attended by senior police officials, including SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan, Zonal SPs, SP Dolphin and Patrolling, and SP Security and Administration Operations.

During the meeting, DIG Islamabad instructed all officers to prioritize the arrest of individuals involved in serious offenses such as murder and attempted murder. He called for targeted operations against proclaimed offenders and active criminal gangs.

The DIG also emphasized taking firm action against illegal weapons, drug dealers, and land encroachers. He underscored the need for more effective and purposeful patrolling, ensuring that all units remain active and visible in the field consistently.

DIG Tariq reiterated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the primary responsibility of the Islamabad Police. He made it clear that any negligence or carelessness in duty would be unacceptable.

Reaffirming the force’s commitment, he asserted that the Islamabad Police would continue to maintain law and order, uphold the rule of law, and restore public confidence in their operations.
