DIG Islamabad Briefs Dolphin and Ababeel Squads on Muharram Security

Islamabad: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, has instructed the Dolphin and Ababeel Squads to ensure stringent security measures during Muharram, focusing on maintaining peace in the federal capital.

In a briefing to officers, DIG Tariq highlighted the necessity of a proactive approach to uphold law and order, particularly at religious gatherings and mourning processions. He emphasized the implementation of robust security measures to safeguard Majalis and processions during the holy month.

The DIG directed an increase in patrolling around sensitive areas and urged squads to stay vigilant. Officers were instructed to conduct effective crackdowns on criminal elements and to maintain a visible presence as a deterrent to unlawful activities. “Your uniform should instill fear in the hearts of wrongdoers,” DIG Tariq remarked.

He encouraged officers to perform their duties with honesty and dedication, urging them to remember the importance of public service. “Serve the public with humility, and remember that pleasing Allah lies in serving His people,” he stated.

Further directives were given to the Dolphin and Ababeel Squads to enhance street patrols, ensure a rapid response to emergency helpline “Pukar-15” calls, and treat citizens with respect. DIG Islamabad underlined that citizens’ safety and respectful interaction remain the police force’s top priorities.
