DIG Headquarters Reviews Promotions for Head Constables to ASI Ranks


Islamabad: In a move aimed at advancing the careers of its police force, the Departmental Promotion Committee convened at the Central Police Office in Islamabad to review the service records of Head Constables for potential promotion to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) ranks. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, followed special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting was attended by AIG Establishment Shoaib Masood, Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Hamzah Humayun, and other police officials. The committee examined the service records of Head Constables and forwarded recommendations for those with commendable records. Upon approval, notifications will be issued to formalize the promotions.



The DIG Headquarters emphasized that departmental promotion is a right for every police officer. Officers and personnel who have completed the necessary departmental promotion courses will be promoted based on their seniority to fill vacant positions. This process is set to continue until all existing vacancies are occupied.
