Jammu, A significant meeting involving socio-political activists and members of the Indian civil society was held in Jammu, focusing on the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was organized by the United Peace Alliance (UPA), a coalition of various socio-political organizations. Prominent figures from Indian civil society, including Daya Singh, Anand Vardhan, and others, attended the meeting. Participants discussed the extensive challenges faced by the people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the lack of democratic practices and expression rights in the region.
The speakers urged for a comprehensive dialogue involving all stakeholders to permanently settle the Kashmir issue. Mir Shahid Saleem, the UPA Chairman, highlighted the crucial role of Indian civil society in understanding the historical context of the Kashmir conflict. The delegation from Indian civil society committed to continuing to spotlight the oppressive conditions faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
