Islamabad: Director General Safe City / DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya attended an Eid-ul-Adha luncheon at the Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters, serving as the chief guest for the event. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the luncheon was a significant occasion where Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk joined the DG Safe City / DIG Traffic in sharing an Eid meal with officers and officials. The gathering was an opportunity for exchanging Eid greetings and celebrating the festival, while the dedication of the traffic police officers and officials was recognized.
Following the luncheon, CTO Islamabad visited various duty points, meeting with traffic officers and officials who were on duty during Eid. He expressed appreciation for their commitment, distributed refreshments, and paid tribute to their services. CTO Virk emphasized the officers’ role in ensuring a peaceful Eid for citizens, highlighting their sacrifices in prioritizing public service over personal celebrations.
In conjunction with the festive season, the Islamabad Traffic Police implemented a comprehensive traffic management plan aimed at maintaining smooth traffic flow and providing safe travel for residents during Eid-ul-Adha. Over 400 officers were deployed at key locations such as major roads, parks, and tourist areas. CTO Virk reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against reckless driving behaviors, with special squads in place to enforce these regulations.
He also reassured families traveling to tourist destinations of receiving full traffic assistance to ensure safe journeys. Citizens were urged to adhere to traffic rules and use designated parking areas. In emergencies or for traffic guidance, the public was encouraged to contact the “Traffic Helpline 1915” or “Pucar 15.”
