Srinagar, July 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has termed the rejection of bail plea of its illegally detained Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah as judicial terrorism.
The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, granting bail is the right of every prisoner and this right is further strengthened when no charges have been proved against a political prisoner like Shabbir Shah despite his continued imprisonment. He said, since not a single evidence has so far been proved against Shabbir Shah, the judiciary should have taken cognizance of it and release him. But on the contrary, the Indian judiciary is repeatedly rejecting Shabbir Shah’s bails and in this way, it supports the whims of the investigating agencies, he added.
The spokesman said, it is unfortunate that the judiciary does not see the inconvenience caused to Shabbir Shah by his continued imprisonment, but believes in the assumptions made by the investigating agencies to please the rulers. “Over the years, Shabbir Shah has been booked number of times on various charges, but to date no charges have been proved against him. Even today, he has been imprisoned in Delhi’s Tihar Jail for four years for advocating a just solution to the Kashmir dispute and for the same crime he is being deprived of all rights, even proper medical care”, he maintained. He urged the world to take serious note of the rights violations of civilians and political prisoners in IIOJK and take steps to resolve the long-pending political dispute once and for all according to the will of the Kashmiri people.
