Desecration of Holy Quran in Jharkhand Leads to Outrage

Ranchi, In a provocative incident in the Indian state of Jharkhand, members affiliated with Hindutva groups have been reported to desecrate and burn pages of the Holy Quran.

According to Kashmir Media Service, this incident took place near the Fatehpur Bazar mosque in the Jamtara district of Jharkhand. The individuals involved, believed to be associated with organizations such as RSS, BJP, VHP, and Banjrag Dal, reportedly burned pages of the Holy Quran in a field close to the mosque. This act, perceived as an attempt to stir religious tensions, comes ahead of the upcoming state elections in the region.

The incident has sparked significant outcry among the Muslim community. News of the desecration spread rapidly, leading to strong condemnation of what is being described as a heinous act.

Local media reports indicate that burnt remnants of the Holy Quran were found a short distance from the mosque. This discovery prompted a considerable number of people to gather at the site, reflecting the community’s distress and unrest over the incident.

Maulana Zulfikar Nizami, associated with the Fatehpur Bazaar Mosque, voiced his concern, suggesting that this act seems to be a deliberate attempt by anti-social elements to disrupt the social harmony and brotherhood that prevails in the area.
