Islamabad, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Mir Ghulam Mustafa Shah stressed the significance of transparency, effectiveness, and inclusivity in the budgeting process as essential for reflecting the nation’s priorities and fostering development. His remarks came during a seminar on “Empowering Parliamentarians for Effective Budgetary Oversight” organized by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) in Islamabad.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the Deputy Speaker highlighted the role of the budget as a financial roadmap, essential for transparent and accountable governance. He called for enhancing parliamentary procedures in budget formation to ensure efficient utilization of resources, and emphasized the need for robust monitoring, evaluation, and greater accountability across all government levels.
