Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has underscored the urgency of implementing the Fuel Subsidy Scheme, aiming to provide financial relief for motorbikes, public transport, and the agriculture sector.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on the Fuel Subsidy Scheme, where it was revealed that disbursement for public service transport vehicles has commenced, facilitated by the State Bank of Pakistan and provincial authorities. Provincial representatives also announced the launch of a mobile application for motorcycle subsidy registration, with disbursements expected to start later today.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of a simple, accessible, and transparent mechanism that is widely publicized to ensure that the subsidies reach deserving citizens. The meeting included the Minister for IT and Telecom, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary IT and Telecom, Secretary Petroleum, Chief Secretaries of all provinces, and other senior government officials.
