CHOLPON-ATA: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar of Pakistan has reiterated the nation’s steadfast commitment to the “Shanghai Spirit,” emphasizing the importance of cooperation, connectivity, and shared growth among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States. Dar made these remarks during his address at the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dar expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz leadership and Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev for their hospitality and the arrangements made for the meeting. He congratulated the SCO on its 25th anniversary and underscored its significant role in promoting regional peace, security, prosperity, and sustainable development.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, such as the Islamabad Talks and the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), as evidence of the country’s dedication to dialogue and diplomacy in regional peace efforts. Dar thanked his counterparts for acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts in fostering peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Dar also announced Pakistan’s readiness to assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State in September, inviting all SCO Member States to participate in the upcoming CHS Summit in Pakistan next year.
