Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Commits to Governance Reforms in Power Sector


Islamabad: In a recent meeting with the newly appointed Chairpersons of the Boards of Directors of the Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs), Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar pledged to tackle governance issues within the sector. The meeting focused on the critical need for qualified human resources across DISCOs to enhance operational efficiency.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions in Islamabad centered on strategic reforms aimed at improving service delivery and accountability in the power distribution framework. The presence of the Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, underscored the government’s commitment to resolving longstanding inefficiencies and fostering a more stable energy sector.



This initiative is part of a broader effort by the government to enhance transparency and effectiveness in public service operations, particularly in sectors crucial for economic stability and growth.
