Tehran: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is scheduled to depart for Iran tomorrow to participate in the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). The meeting will focus on enhancing regional cooperation and connectivity.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting, Mr. Dar will emphasize Pakistan’s dedication to the ECO charter and the potential benefits of increased regional connectivity. This includes the development of rail and road networks, the liberalization of visa regimes, and the simplification of border procedures. Additionally, he will express Pakistan’s concerns regarding hostilities in the Middle East, which pose risks to regional peace and security.
Mr. Dar is also expected to sign the Charter for the ECO Clean Energy Center. On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, he will engage in discussions with participating ministers and other dignitaries.
