Deputy Prime Minister Enforces Strict Austerity Measures Across Ministries

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has mandated rigorous enforcement of austerity measures across all government ministries and divisions, emphasizing transparency and fiscal discipline.

According to Radio Pakistan, these directives were issued during a meeting of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures in Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister Dar stressed the importance of judicious use of public resources, aligning with the government’s commitment to austerity and responsible governance.

The Committee evaluated the progress of the Prime Minister’s austerity measures, which include the decision by federal cabinet members to relinquish their salaries. Additionally, the Committee assessed expenditure reductions across various ministries and departments and discussed salary deductions for senior government officials earning 300,000 rupees and above. Provinces were briefed and involved to ensure a coordinated implementation of the measures at both federal and provincial levels.
