Islamabad: The Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) convened its 15th Council Meeting under Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on integrating ERRA into the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), reflecting directives from the Prime Minister, and addressing legislative and financial matters.
According to National Disaster Management Authority, the meeting was attended by ERRA Council Members and delegates from the NDMA. The gathering reviewed the progress of ERRA’s integration into NDMA, emphasizing the completion of ERRA headquarters projects by June 2024. Discussions also covered audit procedures and project closures at the NDMA headquarters, which will oversee ERRA’s comprehensive processes along with securing financial support for projects transferred to the governments of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the integration aims to streamline operations and enhance the disaster response framework. The meeting concluded with an agreement on further steps, focusing on collaboration with the governments of AJ&K, KP, and the Ministries of Finance and Planning for ongoing projects.
