HONG KONG: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has arrived in Hong Kong to attend the signing ceremony for the Convention on the establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed). The event marks a significant step in international mediation efforts.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s arrival was met by key officials, including the Deputy Secretary for Justice for Hong Kong, Dr. Cheung Kwok-kwan. Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Khalil Hashmi, and Consul General of Pakistan to Hong Kong, Riaz Ahmed Sheikh, were also present to welcome him.
In addition to the signing ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister is expected to engage in other bilateral discussions during his visit. These engagements aim to strengthen ties and explore further cooperation in mediation and other areas.
Radio Pakistan reported that the Deputy Prime Minister’s participation underscores Pakistan’s commitment to international collaboration in mediation. The establishment of IOMed is seen as a pivotal development in the field of international dispute resolution.
