Deputy PM Evaluates Sugar Price Stability and Airport Outsourcing Progress


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the inaugural meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Monitoring Sugar Exports, expressing satisfaction with the stability of sugar prices in the domestic market. The meeting in Islamabad addressed the current stock levels and future production timelines, as well as progress on airport outsourcing initiatives.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the committee was informed that the export of surplus sugar has generated approximately $120 million in foreign exchange. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining sufficient sugar stocks and instructed that the next production season commence no later than November 21.



In addition to sugar exports, the Deputy Prime Minister presided over the 13th meeting of the Steering Committee on Airports Outsourcing. The focus was on the technical evaluation of bids by the International Finance Corporation. The Deputy Prime Minister directed that the bidding process be completed transparently and efficiently by the 7th of the next month.
