ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the 44th Meeting of the Steering Committee on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Achievement Programme in Islamabad today. Discussions centered on initiatives and government programs aimed at meeting the SDGs, particularly focusing on basic infrastructure and the needs of underprivileged communities across Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through targeted development efforts. The committee reviewed current projects and explored strategies to enhance infrastructure and service delivery to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged populations.
The Steering Committee on SDGs Achievement Programme is tasked with monitoring and guiding the implementation of development projects aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The meeting underscored the importance of addressing basic needs to ensure progress in achieving these international objectives.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar reiterated the government’s dedication to prioritizing initiatives that directly benefit the most vulnerable sections of society, emphasizing the need for a coordinated approach to development planning and execution.
