Deputy Mayor of Karachi Criticizes K-Electric, Advocates for Civic Unity and Development

Karachi, Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad criticized the behavior of K-Electric regarding unannounced load shedding and unpaid dues during a press conference at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s head office. He emphasized the necessity for a revised approach by K-Electric to prevent potential public unrest and highlighted ongoing collaborative efforts for city improvement under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Deputy Mayor Murad expressed frustration over K-Electric’s operations and the impact on the citizens, especially in areas that are up-to-date with payments yet still face power outages. The press conference, also attended by City Council Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the People’s Party, Dil Muhammad, and Jumman Darwan, served as a platform for voicing concerns and laying out the People’s Party’s vision for the city’s development, free from political influence and focused on service.

Murad also outlined the initiatives under the leadership of Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, including health and education sector improvements like the new nursing school at the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases and enhanced transportation projects across Karachi’s seven districts. He reiterated the People’s Party’s dedication to serving without discrimination and protecting the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s contributions to Pakistan’s sovereignty.
