Islamabad, A dense fog warning has been issued for the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Sindh, and Islamabad for this week, as per the latest weather forecast. Citizens in these regions are advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the country is currently experiencing continental air over most parts, with a westerly system affecting Balochistan, potentially impacting parts of the province and upper parts of the country until January 5th.
The weather forecast for Thursday predicts mainly cold and dry conditions in most parts of the country, with very cold weather expected in the northern regions. Dense fog and smog are likely to continue in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plain areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Cloudy weather accompanied by rain and snow over hills is anticipated in most parts of Balochistan.
The forecast for Friday remains similar, with cold and dry weather expected across the country and very cold temperatures in the north. Dense fog and smog conditions are expected to persist in the same regions, with cloudy weather and rain or snow over hills likely in most parts of Balochistan and isolated areas in Gilgit Baltistan.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather has prevailed in most areas, with very cold conditions in northern parts of the country and northern Balochistan. Dense fog and smog have been prevalent in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, and Islamabad. Gwadar recorded 1mm of rain during this period.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today include Leh at -11°C, Skardu at -10°C, and sub-zero temperatures in various other regions such as Kalam, Gupis, Gilgit, Astore, Srinagar, Rawalakot, and Hunza.
