Dengue Outbreak Worsens in Jammu Region

SRINAGAR, The dengue virus is spreading rapidly in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with 3,444 new cases reported, indicating a worsening health crisis in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, health officials disclosed that a significant number of new cases emerged from various districts, including 50 from Jammu district alone. Other affected areas include Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, Samba, Poonch, and Reasi. The patients comprise both adults and children, with Jammu region recording the highest number of cases.

The health official stated that Udhampur district follows Jammu in terms of the number of cases, with 764 reported cases, while Kathua and Samba districts have reported 466 and 343 cases, respectively. Other affected areas are Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Poonch, Kishtwar, Kashmir valley, and other parts of the territory.

A total of 1,692 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals to date, indicating a significant strain on the healthcare system in the region. The rapid spread of dengue in Jammu and Kashmir underscores the need for urgent medical and preventive measures to control the outbreak.
