DEMP Organizes Exhibition to Mark Kashmir Black Day and Spotlight Indian Actions in IOJK

Islamabad, The Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP) curated a Photographic, Painting, and Poster exhibition on the occasion of Kashmir Black Day. The event was designed to spotlight actions in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK) since India’s annexation on 27th October 1948 and to stand in unity with the people of Kashmir.

According to a news release by the Press International Department, over 50 students from various educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi took an active part in this art competition. Participating universities and colleges included Fatima Jinnah Women University, Mashal Degree College Wah Cantt, Abasyn University, Islamabad, University of Wah, Wah Engineering College, National University of Medical Science, International Islamic University, Comsats University Islamabad, National Defence University, NUML University Islamabad, Women University Rawalpindi, and Nutech University, Islamabad.

Among the participants, Syeda Mahrukh of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Islamabad, clinched the 1st Position in the painting segment. The 2nd position was awarded to Syeda Nahya Batool from Mashal Degree College, Wah Cantt, while Maryam Mumtaz from the same college secured the 3rd position.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Zahoor Ahmad, officiated at the prize distribution ceremony. He not only awarded prizes to the winners but also provided certificates to all the participants. During his address, Secretary Ahmad touched upon the situation in Kashmir and underscored Pakistan’s unyielding commitment to the Kashmiri people. He stated that such exhibitions, especially with the involvement of the younger generation, play a pivotal role in drawing attention to the situation in Kashmir.

The event also saw Mr. Muhammad Arshad Munir, Executive Director General, extending his support to the Kashmiri people, especially marking the significance of Kashmir Black Day.
