Jammu, September 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): Daily wagers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department held a strong protest demonstration at the office of Chief Engineer, PHE, in Jammu, demanding their regularization and release of pending wages.

The protesting daily wagers raised slogans in support of their demands and against the LG administration as well as ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

The demonstration was held under the banner of PHE Employees United Front for highlighting the demands of daily wagers, who are agitating for the last 444 days.

Addressing the protest demonstration, member of PHE Employees United Front, Ravi Hans said that Lt Governor Manoj Kumar Sinha and his administration have failed to fulfill their own commitment made on November 11, 2020 with daily wagers at Rajbhawan in Jammu.

He further said the LG administration is not serious towards long pending issues of Daily wagers.

During the protest demonstration, the daily wagers announced to hold a mega rally on October 4 if LG administration fails to resolve their issues.

Meanwhile, the Power Development Department (PDD) employees and worker’s unions went on mass protest after the talks with Principal Secretary PDD over their long pending demands remained inconclusive.

The protesting engineers and employees assembled at the PDD Complex, Gladni, and observed a sit-in protest after tendering mass casual leaves on the issue of the alleged inordinate delay in the filling up of the vacant positions across the hierarchy of the department in all cadres.

The protest was held under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) of the Power Development Department.
