Muzaffarabad, May 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):A demonstration was held under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad, today, against the illegal life imprisonment sentence of Yasin Malik.
According to Kashmir Media Service, protesters were shrouded besides wearing black ribbons, chanted anti-India slogans and sat in front of the UN mission office and later on marched towards Line of Control.
Protesters reached Chakothi and marched on Srinagar Highway accompanied by many other protesters joined them under the leadership of PPP leader Ashfaq Zafar.
The participants carried banners and placards and raised slogans against the worst verdict in the fake NIA case against Yasin Malik. They also demanded release of APHC leaders Masarat Alam Butt, Asiya Andrabi, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Yousaf Falahi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sufi and other prisoners, languishing in India’s Tihar jail.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said that the decision of the Indian court against Yasin Malik was the violation of human values and people of Jammu and Kashmir totally reject it. They added that Jammu and Kashmir was not a part of India and therefore no law of India could be applied in the disputed territory.
They said that the decision of the puppet court was the result of hatred, jealousy and revenge against the Kashmiri people at the behest of Narendra Modi.
They warned Modi to abandon the brutal and barbaric practices on unarmed masses or else the 4.4 million people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir reserve the constitutional right to cross the ceasefire line and resist militarily against the Indian Army.
They demanded the international community to annul the verdict against Yasin Malik and take immediate steps for the release of Kashmiri prisoners.
Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Hurriyat leader Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Usman Ali Hashim, Syed Hamza Shaheen, Khawaja Muhammad Sadiq, Nishad Ahmed Butt, Shahbaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Abdul Rauf Tantrey, Dr Muhammad Ghulam, Murtaza Shahid, Chaudhry Tanzeer Iqbal, Faisal Farooq, Liaquat Ali Rana, Muhammad Fayyaz Khan and others were also present on the occasion.
