Srinagar, January 19, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people staged a protest demonstration in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district against the BJP regime’s decision to evict people from their land. The protest was held in the Larnoo-Kokernag area of the district against the Modi regime’s order issued on January 4 asking all occupants to leave the land and residential places within seven days or face action.

The protestors assembled at Bidhard in Larnoo and raised slogans against the Modi regime and its administration for issuing eviction notices to them. The protestors submitted a memorandum to local authorities, demanding revocation of the eviction order. Chaudhary Haroon Khatana, a local activist spearheading the protest, said the order has created panic among the residents in Kashmir valley and Muslims in Jammu region as it will make them homeless and landless. The land was provided to the people for making homes and cultivation years and years ago. Many houses have been constructed on these lands, he said.

Pertinently, the Hindutva BJP-RSS fascist Indian government and its regime in IIOJK have intensified the ongoing eviction campaign in all districts of IIOJK to grab the land of Kashmiri Muslims, which has been in their possession for generations. The Indian occupation authorities along with Indian Army and agencies are snatching the Kashmiris’ land in the name of a so-called anti-encroachment drive. Lakhs of kanals of land of locals in all districts of Kashmir valley and Muslim areas of the Jammu region have been snatched by BJP regime from the Kashmiris so far.
