Deloitte and Pakistan Explore Energy Sector Partnership


Islamabad: A high-level delegation from Deloitte Advisory US met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, to discuss potential collaborations in the energy sector. The talks, held in Islamabad, aimed at leveraging Deloitte’s strategic advisory services to address challenges and opportunities in the country’s oil, gas, minerals, and gemstone industries.



The discussions focused on enhancing operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and sustainable growth in Pakistan’s energy sector. Deloitte shared insights on global best practices in risk advisory, digital transformation, and governance frameworks, which could align with the Ministry of Petroleum’s objectives.



Minister Malik emphasized the government’s dedication to modernizing the energy sector and expressed openness to Deloitte’s expertise. He noted that partnerships with firms like Deloitte could significantly contribute to the sector’s resilience and innovation.



Richard Longstaff, leading the Deloitte delegation, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the potential to drive value and sustainability in Pakistan’s energy goals. Sofyan Yusufi, a lead advisory partner at Deloitte, also shared insights on potential areas of cooperation.



The meeting concluded with an agreement to explore further collaboration, including capacity-building initiatives and technology-driven solutions for the petroleum sector.
