Delhi Court Sends Kashmiri Youth to 14-Day Judicial Custody, Releases Another

Srinagar, A Delhi court has ordered 14-day judicial custody for a Kashmiri youth, Javaid Mattoo, who was allegedly detained illegally and arrested on several false charges.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Javaid Mattoo, from the Sopore area of Baramulla district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested earlier this month in New Delhi’s Nizamuddin area. He was implicated in multiple false cases registered over a decade ago. Meanwhile, another Kashmiri youth, Muhammad Rafi Nazar, was ordered to be released by the Patiala House Court after Indian police failed to present evidence against him in one case. However, Nazar will remain in custody due to a separate case registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
