Islamabad, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has emphatically stated that there can be no compromise on the sanctity and dignity of Pakistan’s martyrs and security forces. His remarks came during an interview with Suno FM, where he discussed various national issues, including the role of the military in development initiatives.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Asif delineated the boundaries of free expression, insisting that it must not extend to disrespecting national heroes. Reflecting on the incidents of May 9 last year, he asserted that true patriots could never contemplate actions that would dishonor the nation’s martyrs. The minister also highlighted the non-sustainable nature of cult politics.
Addressing another query, Asif elaborated on the critical support roles played by the Pakistan Army during emergencies, whether they be wars or economic crises, and pointed out their involvement in significant development projects like the Special Investment Facilitation Council aimed at enhancing the country’s investment climate.
