Defense Minister Khawaja Asif Vows to Protect Pakistan’s Interests Amid Political Tensions


Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s interests, assuring the public that the country’s security and prosperity will be prioritized at all costs. According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Asif addressed the media in Sialkot, stating that Pakistan has made substantial efforts to establish a strong global presence. He also criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, accusing it of attempting to disrupt key national and international initiatives, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Asif further alleged that armed groups linked to PTI are working to undermine the country’s dignity, with Afghan nationals reportedly part of these efforts. He also condemned PTI leader Ali Ameen Gandapur for allegedly misusing government resources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
